March 9 - Spacecraft manufacturer Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) delivers the DIRECTV 7S satellite to the Payload Processing Facility at Sea Launch Home Port in Long Beach, Calif. The Sea Launch team, working with a group from SS/L and the Home Port-based Astrotech processing team, now begins the work of testing, fueling and then encapsulating the satellite in a Payload Fairing. Upon completion, this Payload Unit will be mated with the upper stage of the Zenit-3SL rocket.
