December 26 - A crowd gathers at the end of the Sea Launch pier in the Port of Long Beach, California, to bid farewell to the Odyssey Launch Platform, departing for the Equator.

The PA system on the Launch Platform plays the traditional Shostokovich send-off music while members of our Russian team show their colors.

The Odyssey sails past the Sea Launch Commander and out of the harbor.
The Odyssey clears the tip of Santa Catalina Island, 26 miles from Sea Launch Home Port.
