September 16 - A busy day at the Sea Launch pier with three vessels tied up in port. At left is the Condock, a ship that delivers rocket segments to the Home Port twice a year. Behind it is the Odyssey Launch Platform. To the right is the Sea Launch Commander.

The Launch Platform is ready to sail - fully loaded with provisions, fuel, rocket and satellite, and passengers and crew.

Under the large crane on the Launch Platform, passengers and crew gather to wave goodbye, as the vessel inches away from the pier.

A crewman ties up the lines at the stern of the Launch Platform (tiny figure walking on the pontoon).

The platform heads out of the port ...

... and out to sea, in the morning mist.
