On a bright, sunny morning, the Odyssey Launch Platform departs Sea Launch Home Port for its voyage to the launch site on the Equator.
Excitement reigns for those on board as well as those bidding them farewell at the pier.

Adding to the international spirit of the crew, the spacecraft team from EADS Astrium proudly displays the French flag, alongside the flags of Russia (at left) and Ukraine (at right) as the now traditional Russian farewell music streams from the loud speakers.
