Built by EADS Astrium, the Inmarsat-4 spacecraft flew from Toulouse, France, to Long Beach, California, on a Russian Antonov 124 cargo plane, the second-largest cargo aircraft in the world.

The arrival at the Long Beach Airport attracted interested observors, as many locals had never seen such a large plane.

Upon arrival, a crew from Sea Launch, Astrium and Astrotech Operations eased the Inmarsat-4 spacecraft out of the plane.

The container measured 45 feet long long, 18.3 feet wide and about 16 feet high.

A large crane lowers the spacecraft container onto a flatbed transporter for its short drive to Sea Launch Home Port.
