The vent mast, which was removed for repairs, is now freshly painted and ready for re-installation in its position at the starboard aft corner of the Launch Platform (see earlier postings on pages 6, 7 and 14). It arrives at the pier on a long-bed truck and connected to cables from two large cranes.
Once secure, the 80-foot mast is brought to a vertical position and raised 200 feet to the deckside, where it is welded to its mounting.
